Cultivating Unity
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4-5, NIV
Just as the body of Christ functions as one, AHG desires for the Troop Ministry Team to function as one body as the Troop fulfills the mission of building women of integrity. The Troop Ministry Team is comprised of the Troop Board, Unit Leaders, and Assistant Unit Leaders. Although the Unit Leaders and Assistance Unit Leaders are not part of the Troop Board, they play an integral part in implementing the AHG Program and ministering to girls in the Troop.
For unity to abound this takes intentional prayer and effort by all Troop Ministry Team members. Here are a few ways your Troop Ministry Team can work towards unity:
- Regularly pray for and with one another
- Do a Bible study or devotion together
- Make a plan on how to best communicate with one another
- Practice charitable assumption
- Resolving conflict quickly and gently by having the right conversations with the right people

AHG Faith Awards
Faith is foundational to the Mission of AHG. Christ is the focus and the reason for everything AHG does. Faith Awards are one of the main avenues in which to integrate faith into the AHG Program. AHG encourages all girls to participate in the Faith Awards Program. One year of Faith Award programming is required for Tenderhearts, Explorers, and Pioneers as they complete Level Awards. Patriots have to complete segments one and two.
There are two different types of Faith Awards: The Catholic Faith Awards and the Build Your Faith Awards (B.Y. Faith Awards). The two tracks were created to fit all American Heritage Girls. The Catholic Faith Awards honor the AHG Creed, Oath, and Mission connecting what girls are learning in AHG with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. B.Y. Faith Awards allow girls and adults to choose from different options that will accelerate girls in learning to live by faith. The B.Y. Faith Awards offer Troops the opportunity to tailor the program as much as they and their Charter Organization deem necessary. Both Faith Award tracks allow girls to grow deeper in their faith and relationship with Christ.
The Jump
American Heritage Girls partnered with social media platform The Jump to create a place for AHG Adult Members to connect and build authentic community. As a Troop Board member, this is the best place to connect with other Troop Board members across the country and share ideas, collaborate with others, and share prayer requests. Jumps that are available to you include:
- Troop Board Members
- Jumps based on Troop Board and Unit Leader positions
- Troop specific Jumps
- State Jumps
- AHG Community Jump (All adults that have joined a Troop specific Jump)

RightNow Media
All registered Adult Members have access to an extensive video library called RightNow Media. It’s like the “Netflix of Faith-Based Videos” and has a huge library of videos that you can access whenever and wherever you want.
As an organization, AHG is always looking for ways to come alongside families. RightNow Media is an excellent resource for leadership videos to supplement the Troop’s girl leadership program. There are countless Bible study videos that the Troop Ministry Team can watch together or individually to grow together as a team and stay spiritually strong. There are also videos for the whole family to enjoy together.
